The Active Filter provides a three stage waveform providing a one half, full and another one half pulse during each half cycle which more closely simulates the sinusoidal shape. Whereas, the 6 pulse drive provides the double hump output more closely resembling a square wave and less closely resembles the sinusoidal waveform.
