What is the cause of  ILF [Internal Link Error] fault on an Altivar Process Drive?

Product Line:
Altivar Process Drive (ATV630, ATV930, ATV650, ATV950, ATV660, ATV960, ATV680, ATV980)

Environment:
All serial numbers for Altivar Process Drive

Cause:

Resolution:

Cause
Communication interruption between option module and the drive.

Remedy
  • Verify connection to the proper slot
    • Slot A
      • Communication Modules (DeviceNet, Ethernet IP, Profibus, ProfiNet...)
      • I/O & Relay Module
    • Slot B
      • Encoder Card (Analog, Digital, Resolver...)
      • I/O & Relay Module
  • Verify the environment (electromagnetic compatibility)
  • If using Communication Module, check drives firmware version. (For most cases it should be at least V1.5IExx)
  • Save configuration file on keypad, remove option module and do a factory reset. If fault disappears then it might be a bad option module.
