ATV630 drive is tripping on dCrE: DC Bus Ripple Error

Issue:

Drive is tripping on dCrE - DC Bus Ripple Error.

Product Line:

Altivar 600 series (ATV630, ATV650, ATV660) firmware version 2.5 or higher

Alitvar 900 series (ATV930, ATV950, ATV960) firmware version 2.2 or higher

Altivar 340 series firmware version 1.7 or higher

Environment:

Does not apply to ATV680, ATV980, ATV6B0 or ATV9B0

Cause:

Input Filter has been set to YES and DC Bus Ripple Config has been set to Error

Resolution:

When Input Filter is selected to YES the drive will attempt to adjust the motor control in order to prevent ripple (instability) on the DC bus.

The DC Bus Ripple Config parameter can be set to Ignore (default setting), Warning or Error. When set to Error, if DC Bus Ripple is detected it can trigger the DC Bus Ripple Error.

To diagnose the issue, first confirm an Input Filter is present and connected to the drive. If there is no input filter, the Input Filter parameter should be set to NO to disable the DC Bus Ripple Error.

If an Input Filter is present, verify it is installed properly and is working correctly.

Confirm input line power is present and balanced.

Verify input power connections and grounding are installed properly.
