What is the difference between Seismic Component Importance Factor lp=1.0 and lp=1.5?

Ip=1.0  Simulation analysis is done for unit under test (no shake testing required). Seismic Certificate provided.

- Does not require functionality validation after an earthquake
-Third Party performs the seismic analysis on the unit and provides a Seismic Certificate for the analyzed unit.

Ip= 1.5  Physical (shake) test is performed for the unit under test. Seismic Label provided.

This Importance Factor of 1.5 is required on the following:
- If the component of the project is required to function for life-safety purposes after an earthquake
- If the component contacts hazardous materials
- If the component is in or attached to an Occupancy Category IV Structure and it is needed for continued operation of the facility or its failure could impair the continued operation of the facility
-Third Party performs the seismic analysis on the unit and provides a Seismic Label to the tested unit.
