How to add a PowerTag or Energy Meter to EcoStruxure™ Energy Hub via PAS800 (with documentation links)
To make a PowerTag or energy meter visible in EcoStruxure™ Energy Hub (EEH) through a PAS800, you must follow two main steps.
Below you will also find the links to the official Schneider Electric documentation that explains the cloud connection and the EEH setup.
1. Adding the device to the PAS800
Depending on the type of device (wireless PowerTag or wired energy meter), follow the procedure below.
A. Adding a PowerTag (wireless device)
- Open the web interface of the PAS800.
- Go to Settings → Wireless Devices → Wireless Discovery.
This allows the PAS800 to automatically detect and add wireless PowerTags. - Select the PowerTag and fill in the required contextualization data (name, location, circuit, device type).
This ensures correct representation later in Energy Hub. - Verify the measurements under Monitoring & Control.
B. Adding an energy meter (wired – Modbus RS485 or Modbus TCP)
- Open the PAS800 web interface.
- Navigate to Settings → Modbus Devices → Modbus Addition.
- Add the new Modbus device and enter the Modbus communication parameters (address, protocol settings, model, etc.).
- Complete the contextualization data, which is necessary for EEH to recognize the device correctly.
- Check the live values in Monitoring & Control to ensure everything is functioning properly.
2. Connecting the PAS800 to EcoStruxure™ Energy Hub
Once the PowerTags and/or energy meters are detected and working correctly in the PAS800, the data will be published automatically to Energy Hub — as long as the cloud connection is enabled.
Follow these steps:
- Make sure the PAS800 has access to the internet (DNS, proxy and firewall settings must allow cloud communication).
- Go to Settings → Data Management → Activate Sampling.
The sampling indicator should turn green. - Enable Schneider Electric cloud publishing via:
Settings → Data Publication → Publication Method → Schneider Cloud Services.
When the cloud connection is active, the devices will automatically appear in EcoStruxure™ Energy Hub.
