This FAQ covers the alternatives available in Machine SCADA Expert v2023 to play a video.

Resolution:
To embed and play videos on a project screen in EcoStruxure Machine SCADA Expert, you have two main options:
1- ActiveX / .NET Controls
You can use native objects such as:
- Web Browser
- Windows Media Player
- Or third-party objects like VNC.
Note: ActiveX controls are still supported in Machine SCADA Expert; however, we do not recommend using them anymore since modern alternatives like .NET controls or Custom Widgets are available.
2- Custom Widgets
In a Custom Widget, you can take advantage of HTML5 native compatibility to play videos, create video controls, or fully customize video playback.
ActiveX controls are still compatible with EMSE; however, we no longer recommend using them since modern options like .NET controls or Custom Widgets are available.
Additionally, if the project needs to be accessible to clients, Custom Widgets are the best option, as they make the object available on any web browser and platform through Mobile Access.
The Custom Widget Framework is required to execute Custom Widgets.

Modify video Settings:
If you need to hide video controls, proceed as follows:
When hovering the mouse over the video, no video controls appear:
Import the Widget:
You can copy the widget folder and reuse it in any project:
