May 8, 2021 - Schneider Electric Canada has joined the fight to tackle COVID-19 by co-hosting a vaccine clinic in Longueuil, Québec. Partnering with global aerospace company Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC), the Vaccine Hub is in direct response to the Government of Quebec’s call for private sector support to help vaccinate a total of 500,000 people starting in May.
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to strain the healthcare system, putting unimaginable stress on our healthcare workers. Now is the time to step up as a community and to accelerate vaccination efforts, with safety and efficiency at the forefront.
“Working together with 13 partners across Québec, our commitment is to protect employees, their families and the community from the continued spread of COVID-19,” said Frederick Morency, VP of Services at Schneider Electric Canada
Details for the vaccine clinic
- The operation will begin on May 8 and Pratt & Whitney Canada has committed to vaccinating 15,000 to 25,000 people by August at its Longueuil facility.
- Vaccinations will be deployed according to Quebec government phases and priority groups. Learn more here - Quebec government COVID-19 Vaccination page.
- The clinic will offer dedicated booking windows for Schneider Electric and partner employees, and subsequently for their families based on eligibility requirements.
Schneider Electric and P&WC have put out a call to employees and corporate neighbours to volunteer and help run the Vaccine Hub. Volunteers will be responsible for facilitating the workflow of people coming to get vaccinated. We recognize this is a community effort, and want to thank our employees, partners and volunteers for their continued commitment in helping to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Please remember to continue to follow all safety measures, including wearing a face mask, maintaining two-metre physical distancing and washing your hands.
We’re in this together.
