Issue:
Do I need to isolate the output of the soft starter when using a full voltage bypass contactor?
Product Line:
ATS48
Environment:
All serial numbers for ATS48
Cause:
N/A
Resolution:
No, there is no need to isolate the output side of the soft starter. You would need to wire the load side of the bypass contactor to A2, B2, C2 and wire the motor leads to T1, T2 and T3.
On the other hand, if you field install a bypass contactor you may need to add a line isolation contactor and add NC contacts so that you can turn off the soft starters control CL1 CL2 control voltage when you are in full voltage bypass.
