For ATV610, the password can be reset by HMI, like VW3A1111.
Go to the menu [My preferences]-[Password], input "RESET!", press "OK", then the message " Confirm the password reset" will be displayed, after that long press "OK" again for about ten seconds, the password status will be changed to "no password defined".
By this way, the old password is cleared, now new password can be set.
