This document explains user on How to resolve OPCUA communication issue with Aveva System Platform for large projects.
By default, the Automation expert keeps some default values related to OPCUA server settings which are given below.

When User compiles the project, software will automatically checks and gives warning messages to user as shown below.
08-05-18:51:21.935019 WARNING: OPCUA.OPCUAServer: The current number of OPCUA references ( 11965 ) is above the maximum number of OPCUA references supported by the device ( 1000 ).
2022-08-05-18:51:21.935239 WARNING: OPCUA.OPCUAServer: The current number of OPCUA variables ( 5226 ) is above the maximum number of OPCUA variables supported by the device ( 500 ).
Note: The default values has been increased in the latest version from 1000 to 65535 for references and 500 to 25000 for variables.

In this situation, the name space "EcostruxureSystemExpert" will not be created in SMC. Thus the OPCUA communication with ASP will not be successful.

For resolving this issue, User has to increase the current device settings for "Max. number of Variables" & Max. number of references", more than the values shown in the warnings and then deploy the Device configuration to the Device and Reboot.
After that, User can able to get the "EcostruxureSystemExpert" name space in SMC and the OPCUA communication shall be successful. Some times it was observed that, User needs to to reconfigure the SMC OPCUA configuration for successful OPCUA communication.
