ION Setup crashes after splash screen with application error.

ION Setup Crash Memory Error

ION Setup V2.0 crashes after the splash screen with the following application error:

The instruction at '0x77e2b31b' referenced memory at '0x00000006'.  The memory could not be 'read'.

Symptoms

When launching ION Setup, the above error displays.

Causes and Fixes

Cause

The file IONSETUP.DAT is corrupt. This problem may occur if the file is 0 bytes in size.

Resolution

Backup IONSETUP.DAT and restart ION Setup. A new file is generated; it is located in the root of the ION Setup installation. The network setup configuration will be lost unless you can recover it from the old file.
