From the design perspective of the 480V power supply, any voltage greater then 480V pushes the limits of the power supply. If it is desired to provide an input slightly above 480VAC (i.e. 495VAC RMScontinuous) it may reduce the lifetime of the power supply and is therefore not recommended.
