Will PME retain historical data if a meter is deleted and then added again later with the same name
Issue
User would like to keep the historical data of a certain device but needs to make a change that requires the device to be removed from the PME system.

Cause
User needs to remove and readd a unit from their PME system, such as for changing out the device connection type from serial to direct ethernet or some other reason but would like to ensure that their historical data remains.
Resolution
As long as the node/source name remain the same, the historical data will remain intact since ION_Network and ION_Data reference logged data to the node name. If a device/node is deleted from Management Console, and a new device with the same name is created, ION_Data will continue to log the new data on top of the existing data from the original source name.
