Goals and Symptoms

This is a Windows Application Event. It can happen in Windows XP, Windows Vista and perhaps other Windows operating systems.
After trimming or archiving a database, the following error may show up:
"The following error occurred: The event log file is full"

Causes and Fixes

It can be fixed by changing the Application Event Log properties:
- Right click My Computer > Manage > Event Viewer
- Right click Application Events > Properties
- In the Log size setting, change the setting to "Overwrite events as needed"
- Some postings on Google also suggest increase the Maximum log size, but it may not be necessary.
