STBNIC2212 Advantys Ethernet/IP NIM Firmware Upgrade - Exec v.3.00

Issue
The purpose of this resolution is to inform STBNIC2212 users that the firmware was upgraded to the following:

• • Exec v.3.00
  • Kernel v. 1.06
  • Web page v.1.04.02

Exec file, nic2212_upgrade_[k]_v1.06.07_[fw]_v3.00.05_[web]_v1.04.02_[eds_ico]_v1.13.exe iwill automatically run the loader utility program when executed and prompt the user to enter the IP address of the Ethernet NIM. The Firmware, Kernel, and web files will load sequentially and then reboot the NIM when completed.

The Firmware, Kernel and web version are field upgradeable.

Resolution

• The behavior of Bit 8 in Status Word 1 has been corrected. Bit 8 is '0' in a normal operating system. It will no longer be set to a '1' by power cycling the NIC or by putting the NIC island into RUN after a Stop.
• Made the STBNIC2212 more robust when experiencing an Ethernet broadcast storm. It is now designed to self-recover after a storm and not require a reboot.
• At power up of an STBNIC2212, a reset/reload all parameters command will not be sent over the Island CANopen bus. Therefore, a configured device (such as a TesysU) on the CAN Extension will not be reset to its default parameters after a power cycle of the NIM or by pressing the Reset button.  Previous STBNIC2212 Exec versions would reset the TesysU to its default parameters.
• Implemented changes to make the STBNIC2212 more robust in large island configurations under heavy Ethernet traffic load.
