What type of registers can the SoMachine Modbus serial IO Scanner of a M238 / M258 / LMC058 / M241 / M251 read or write?

The SoMachine Modbus IO Scanner for serial communication can only read or write holding registers, also called 4x registers or %MW registers. If other types of registers have to be read or written, a Modbus Manager along with Read_Var / Write_Var function blocks has to be used. One serial port can be programmed to handle either one Modbus IO Scanner or one Modbus Manager along with Read_Var / Write_Var function blocks. You cannot program one serial port of a M238 / M258 / LMC058 / M241 / M251 to handle both.
