Issue
While attempting to install PME 7.2.x/8.x on a supported operating system, the installer stops and prompts the user with an "Invalid Operating System" error:

"Your operating system does not meet the minimum requirements for this product. Please validate that your operating system version, architecture, edition, and service pack meet the documented requirements. The installation will now exit."

Cause
This is a result of the Windows server being promoted to a 'domain controller'. On a domain controller, there are no local accounts because the local accounts are the actual domain accounts. If PME is installed on a server, and then subsequently promoted to be a domain controller, the software will stop working correctly.​

Resolution

Power Monitoring Expert does not support installs on a domain controller.

1. Install Power Monitoring Expert on another server that is not a domain controller.

OR

2. Demote the server from the 'Domain Controller' status by uninstalling this Windows feature. Refer to the link below for further information.
