Why Won’t the S-Flex 212 Drive Start When Using Remote Start (Terminals 5–6)?
Resolution:
If the S-Flex 212 drive does not start when closing the remote start contact on terminals 5–6, check the following common causes:
Troubleshooting Steps:
-
Verify Remote Mode is Active
- Ensure the drive is in Remote mode.
- The LOC (Local) LED should be off. Press the LOC/REM button if needed.
-
Confirm Proper Control Mode and Wiring
- Make sure the AFC/Bypass switch is set to AFC mode.
- Verify terminals 5–6 have a dry contact completing the circuit.
- Ensure the Lower Limit (LL) is set above 0 Hz if no analog speed reference (VIA/VIB) is used.
-
Check Communication Card Settings (if installed)
- If a communication card is present, confirm these parameters:
- CNOD = 0 (Terminal control)
- FNOD = 1 (VIA) or 2 (VIB)
- F108 = 48 (Force local always active)
- If a communication card is present, confirm these parameters:
-
Inspect Wiring Connections
- Look for loose or incorrect wiring in the control circuit.
-
Review External Interlocks
- Check if an end-of-damper circuit or other interlock is preventing the start command.
-
Consult the Installation Manual
- Refer to the S-Flex 212 wiring diagrams (manual 30072-451-83B) for correct configuration.
