Minimum System Requirements for the DCE Desktop Client

Information! This article only discusses downloading and installing the Desktop Client for the Data Center Expert software.  For instructions on deploying the Data Center Expert Virtual Appliance on VMware or HyperV, see knowledge base Video: Data Center Expert | How do I download and deploy the Virtual Appliance? .

The Data Center Expert Desktop Client (console) is a stand-alone Java application that runs on systems that meet the following requirements:

• A PC with a 1-GHz or better AMD/Intel processor running a 64-bit operating system: Microsoft® Windows® Server 2016 and 2019, Windows 10 and 11
• At least 2 GB of RAM and 20GB disk space
• Screen resolution should be set to at least 1024 x 768.

Downloading the Desktop Client



1) Open the DCE Appliance web interface by entering the IP address or hostname in a web browser.

2) In the upper-right corner will be an option to Download Client.
NOTE: In older versions, it may be on a different area of the web interface.

3) To continue you will need to Read and Agree to the license agreement.

4) Download the Binary.exe for the Desktop Client (application).

5) Run the downloaded executable file and follow the on-screen instructions.

6) Once the installation completes, you can launch to the Desktop Client using the Desktop Icon (if done during installation) or the Start Menu Option for Data Center Expert #.#.#.

NOTE: Starting with version Data Center Expert version 7.9.3, the Window's Desktop client is available for download from Upgrade and VM download pages.  The upgrade page can be accessed through the EcoStruxure IT Entitlements Portal.  If you are unable to access the upgrades via the EcoStruxure IT Entitlements portal, please reach out to your local technical support.
