What are the conditions for updating the firmware of a TMH2GDB (small display for M221 PLC) ?
It’s possible to upgrade the firmware of the TMH2GDB display within a SD card plugged into the M221 and a TMH2GDB sample connected to the M221.
Nevertheless, there are few conditions to make this possible:
M221 boot version :
There is no condition on the level of the M221 boot version.
M221 firmware version:
The firmware version of the M221 must be >= V1.4.0.0
(we can check M221 the firmware version within SoMachine / Machine Expert - Basic online connected, and download the latest firmware version if necessary).
TMH2GDB firmware version:
The firmware version of the TMH2GDB must be >= V1.3 IE02
-the firmware version of the TMH2GDB appearing briefly when connecting the TMH2GDB to the M221 serial line, this make the TMH2GDB booting up
-the firmware version is also visible within %SW185
M221 operating mode: plug the SD card having the script for TMH2GDB update when the M221 is already powered ON (do not operate power off/power on).
This is no way to upgrade the firmware of a TMH2GDB else
1) In case the current firmware version inside the TMH2GDB is V1.1IE40
or
2) In case the TMH2GDB is labelled as PV01 RL01 SV1.0
In such situation, if the customer needs any new TMH2GDB feature not yet available in its "old manufactured device sample", then he needs to get another TMH2GDB sample new out of the box.
