Resolution
PME 8.x Standard, PME 8.x DC, and PME 8.x HC, and PowerSCADA Advanced Reporting support SQL Server 2012, 2014 and 2016.

SQL Server 2016 pricing has significantly increased from Microsoft, so we continue to provide/ship SQL Server 2012 from the factory.

• SQL Server 2012 will be available to us until April 2018
• Product supports SQL Server 2016, SQL Server 2014, SQL Server 2012 and 2008R2

• Allows unlimited users and devices to access the database.
• Requires one licence for each Core on the server where SQL is installed.
• Being 4 the minimum number of cores sold (in the case of single core and dual core processors)

• Requires one CAL for each user and device. (A device includes any meter that has its data logged in the PME database, even via PC logging)
• Requires a SERVER licence for every machine where a component of SQL is installed.
• More complicated and expensive for systems with ~30 meters + users.
• Cannot be upgraded to a Processor licence.

Schneider Electric does not promote or provide (SERVER/CAL) licensing option from the factory for these reasons.

The part numbers for SQL Server Standard Edition licenses are PSWSQL2012L or PSWSQL2016L

The MINIMUM licensing is always 4 Cores:

2x PSWSQL2012L
OR
2x PSWSQL2016L

SQL Server Standard Edition is licensed per core:
Number of core licenses required = Total cores on the server
Licence sold in 2-core packs

Example: 2 Intel Xeon 6-core processors
Number of core licenses required = 12 (total cores on the server)
Purchase 6 licenses (licence sold in 2-core packs)
