Goals and Symptoms:
This knowledge base explains the different type of version usability state in templates and its purpose
Facts and Changes:
This document can be referred for any EcoStruxure Hybrid DCS version
Causes and Fixes:
The templates in Ecostruxure Hybrid DCS can be segregated according to its usability states.
This segregation will help the user while developing the new templates as well as using the existing templates.
The State property defines the following usability states of a template.
1. Approved: You can use the template to create instances or new references from another template. All the templates that can be used for developing the application belong to this usability state.
2. Not Approved: You cannot use the template to create instances or new references from another template. Its the default usability state that you can see while saving a new template. All the incompleted templates can be kept as "Not Approved" for segregation.
3. Deprecated: You can use the template to create instances or new references from another template. The state is used to indicate that although the template is deprecated, it is maintained for legacy purposes. The template belongs to deprecated cannot be used for new application development by default. These templates will be available only by unselecting the checkbox "Approved only" in the Templates Browser. Removal of the template will be throwing error for migrated projects if the same template used in the older version. Hence it is Deprecated.
4. Obsolete: You cannot use the template to create instances or new references from another template. This state has not been used for any of the Global templates available in the software.
