Power Monitoring Expert - Web Application Reports are not displaying any data

Issue
Possible scenarios:
1. When selecting a measurement for a given source in any Reports, it returns no data even though the data exists in the live database.

2. Generating a diagnostics file  (.cab) the archive files (MDF/LDF) are attached instead of ION_Data MDF/LDF. This archived database no longer exist in the database instance.
The following error appears in the System Log:

System.ApplicationException: Failed to retrieve the connection string for data store 'ReportData'. ---> System.InvalidOperationException: Could not build a valid connection string for database name ION_Data_ArchiveXXXXXXXX One or more fields could not be resolved.

Cause
In Management Console -> Tools, If the Reports Configuration was set to point to an Archived ION_Data that no longer exists, the selector displays the live ION_Data however, in the background, it is still pointing to the archived database.


Resolution

1. Open Management Console
2. from the toolbar click on Tools, then Reports Configurations
3. Select the Location of report data to be ION_Database
4. Do not click on Cancel. Instead, click on OK.
