Ecostruxure Process Expert [2020R2]: How to install EDS files after migrating previous version projects to EPE2020R2
This Document explains user, how to install EDS files in VM after migrating the Ecostruxure Process Expert Projects from previous versions to Ecostruxure Process Expert 2020R2 or higher.
The process of installing EDS files in Ecostruxure Process Expert 2020R2 is similar to that of previous versions except with one option which is newly introduced in the EDS file installation wizard i.e "New naming Convention".
The EDS DTM naming rule has been changed and is based on Product name & Revision Number and naming is consistent across PCs. So by default this New Naming Convention is checked and follow the new Rule.
For migrated projects, the EDS DTM naming philosophy is different and those DTM variables are already used in application. So if we do not uncheck the "New Naming Convention", DTM variables will be re-created with new naming philosophy and due to this, errors will be occurred in Control project.
Therefore it is recommended to uncheck the "New Naming Convention" option while installing EDS files in Ecostruxure Process Expert 2020R2 Software for migrated projects, Such that the old DTM naming rules are applied and thus avoid errors in the Control project. For fresh Projects which are being started in Ecostruxure Process Expert 2020R2 software, this option can be checked.
