Why is an iMNx included with many EVlink Pro AC models ?

IEC 61851 Edition 3 :
iMNx is an undervoltage release, independent from the supply voltage function. A drop in the supply voltage does not trip the associated device. It is used for emergency stopping with a fail-safe principle, and it is insensitive to control circuit voltage variation, to increase service continuity. Charging an electric vehicle means connecting to a powerful electricity supply, which gives some benefits but also brings some risks. If electrical installations are not properly designed, constructed, or treated with caution, they can pose risks to people and property. In addition to the RCD and MCB device protections, most EVlink Pro AC models embed the iMNx release. This is critical to avoid any risks that the user might be exposed to, and to keep everyone safe when it comes to handling electrical equipment. Even with an RDC-DD present, the MNx is necessary for compliance with EV READY requirements from 7.4 kW, and to comply with IEC60364-5-53 requirements. Why? The contactor contacts could be welded following a downstream short-circuit, in which case it can no longer open the charging circuit. As a result, any DC fault current cannot be removed and the permanent voltage on the socket presents a people safety risk if the socket has no shutter. IEC61851 Edition 3.0 §8.1 also recommends a monitoring to provide an isolating function.
