Control Expert returns error 'Impossible to save DTM Catalog file'.
This error can occur when a large number of third-party DTMs are installed on the computer.
Resolution
- Close Control Expert.
- Open Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- For older Windows versions, open Control Panel > Programs and Features.
- Locate the third-party DTM or DTM package that is no longer required.
- Select the DTM and click Uninstall.
- Repeat the process for any other unnecessary third-party DTMs.
- Restart the computer if requested by the DTM uninstaller.
- Start Control Expert.
- Open the DTM Browser and update the DTM catalog.
- Open or create a Control Expert application.
- Close and restart Control Expert to confirm that the catalog can be saved correctly.
Do not delete DTM files manually from the Windows installation directories. Always use the DTM manufacturer’s uninstaller or Windows Installed apps / Programs and Features.
If the third-party DTMs are required
- Install only the third-party DTMs required for the Control Expert application.
- Start Control Expert.
- Update the DTM catalog.
- Verify that the required DTMs are available in the DTM Browser.
If additional third-party DTMs are installed but are not required for Control Expert, do not update the DTM catalog when starting Control Expert.
