Cause

If there are a lot of sources with their offline device driver enabled, it can reduce the performance of the offline driver software component, causing the longer load times.

Resolution

Disable the offline device driver for all but a few devices at a time. Any links to registers on offline devices created using Vista/Designer will be preserved, whether the offline device driver is enabled or disabled.

You can disable on multiple devices by following these steps:

1. Open Management Console > Devices

2. Select a source that has its offline device driver enabled. Hold the Shift key and select another device in the list to highlight multiple. Alternatively, you can press CTRL+A on your keyboard to select all devices.

3. Right-click on any of the highlighted sources > Configure Device

4. Right-click the blank space below the settings > Advanced Properties

configure multiple devices

5. Set Offline Device Driver Enabled = No

Advanced Properties

6. Click OK to save, then edit one of the devices you need to link as an offline device and re-enable the Offline Device Driver for it
