Cause
- The ION Log Inserter Service polls devices that have been added into the PME system Management Console
- The ION Log Subsystem Router Service is the service responsible for handling the electrical meter data polled from the Log Inserter Service into the Message Queues and then processing the data out of the Message Queues and into the SQL databases properly.
Sometimes, the ION Log Subsystem Router Service is unable to move the data from the devices, into the message queues, and then from the message queues, into the SQL database, causing the message queues to backlog and eventually "throttle"
Resolution
Use the following step-by-step process to properly set the message queueing permissions to allow the services listed above to move data through them efficiently.
- Open Computer Management on the PME server.
- Navigate to Services and Applications > Message Queuing > Private Queues.
- For each of the six Private Queues:
- Right-click the queue and select Properties.
- Go to the Security tab.
- Confirm that the Everyone group has the following permissions:
- Get Properties
- Get Permissions
- Send Message
- Confirm that the Anonymous group has the following permissions:
- Send Message
Ensuring that these permissions are set for the "Everyone" group and the "Anonymous" group allows proper message flow
and supports successful data logging.
