These UPS models do not have extended run capability. The installation guide refers to the feature that allows connecting the RBC externally to the UPS. The purpose for attaching a battery externally to the UPS is to accommodate installation requirements for specific applications that require the UPS to be enclosed with control devices in an 'air tight' enclosure. Batteries should not be inside this type of enclosure. With the chassis design on SUA500PDR models, the associated battery can be mounted in a separate appropriately vented enclosure by using the extended length cable included with the battery.
