Moving a Compact Flash (CF) Card Between C3414 CPU boards on SAGE RTU

Issue:

Customer wants to know if it is possible to move a Compact Flash (CF) card from one CPU C3414 to another to transfer settings or recover configuration when the original CPU has a faulty Ethernet interface.

Product:

SAGE 2400

SAGE 3030M

SAGE  4400

SAGE 14x0

Environment:

  • Original C3414 CPU board with defective Ethernet port
  • Replacement C3414 CPU board available
  • Need to preserve configuration and settings

Cause:

The Ethernet interface failure prevents normal configuration extraction via the web interface, prompting the need for an alternative method to retain settings.

Resolution:

  • Yes, it is possible to move the CF card between C3414 CPU boards.
  • Steps:
    1. Remove the CF card from the original C3414 CPU board.
    2. Insert the CF card into the new C3414 CPU board.
    3. Boot up the SAGE RTU with the new C3414 CPU boards.
    4. Access the configuration using the web interface or leave the CF card in the new CPU if replacing the faulty one permanently.

This method ensures the configuration remains intact and avoids manual file reconstruction.
