Schneider Electric, the leader in digital transformation of energy management and automation, has appointed Eugene Quah as the new Country General Manager (GM) for Malaysia & Brunei. In his new role, Eugene plays a pivotal role in steering the next phase of strategy and growth in the two countries. The company aims to drive performance through future-ready talents with a diverse, empowered and digitally proficient team.
Eugene brings 15 years of experience in business development across diverse key end-user segments in the industrial automation field. He has been a valuable addition to Schneider Electric since 2015 when he joined as a Regional Sales Support Manager, Industrial Control & Drives, overseeing the drives business within the East Asia and Japan region. As the subject matter expert, he led the deployment of strategic initiatives in driving the growth of products, solutions, and systems.

In 2019, Eugene was promoted to the Industrial Automation Sales Director for Malaysia, revolutionising channels, and specialising in distribution, original equipment manufacturer and system integrator channels. He also worked with partners providing automation solutions across various applications to help customers improve productivity and increase operational efficiency. In 2021, Eugene rose through the ranks as the Cluster Business Vice President, where he was responsible for the Industrial Automation P&L for Singapore, Malaysia, and Brunei.

The previous Country General Manager, Astri Ramayanti Dharmawan, who led Schneider Electric’s local operations for the past three years will be returning to Jakarta and taking on a new role as the Business Vice President for Services and Sustainability.
