What will cause an Altistart ATS46 or Altistart ATS48 to generate error FrF (Frequency Fault)?

Possible Cause:
• Error FrF is caused by mains supply frequency is outside acceptable limits.
Corrective Action:
The softstarter is by default set ( parameter FrC in menu drC ) to AUt ( 50/60Hz +/- 5% )
Check that the frequency is between:
• 50 Hz +/- 2.5 Hz (47.5 Hz to 52.5 Hz)
• 60 Hz +/- 3.6 Hz (56.4 Hz to 63.6 Hz)
If the main supply frequency is out of above tolerance, the parameter FrC can be set
to 50 or 60Hz the guarded tolerances will become 50Hz +/- 20% or 60Hz +/- 20%
If above does not solve the problem, check the internal connections in the softstarter.
If they are all ok, then suspect a problem with the ATS46 or ATS48 Main Control Board .
The ATS46 Main Control Board is no longer available and the softstarter has to be replaced with
An ATS48 – series softstarter. The ATS48 Main Control Board part number is VX4G481
