VAMP REL52813 – 24 VDC Power Supply Polarity Identification

Issue

The customer reports that the 24VDC power supply terminals on the VAMP REL52813 module do not indicate polarity. The manuals do not reference polarity markings, and the terminals are labeled only as 1 and 2. The customer needs confirmation on whether the device requires polarity or is polarity‑free.

Product

VAMP REL52813 Module

Environment

Applications where the REL52813 module is powered with 24VDC, typically within protection relay systems or auxiliary power supply panels.

Cause

The module’s connector does not include polarity markings, leading to uncertainty during installation. Documentation does not visually or explicitly define the polarity assignment for terminals 1 and 2, resulting in confusion for technicians.

Resolution

Although the connector has no printed polarity symbols, engineering notes confirm that the module does require correct polarity.
According to R&D regarding this same concern, the official response from the factory states:

  • Terminal 1 = Positive (+)
  • Terminal 2 = Negative (–)

It is important that the 24VDC supply be connected with the correct polarity to ensure proper operation and to avoid risk of malfunction.
