What the difference is between a surface cover with a door and a hinged surface cover?
Issue:
Clarifying main features for panelboard covers:  Standard door vs hinged trim.

Product Line:
Panelboards

Environment:
NA

Cause:
Features

Resolution:
On a Hinged trim, the whole trim opens from the left side of the panel and has a hinge on the right side of the mat area. This exposes the entire interior gutter of the box where wiring is found.  The smaller door covering the breakers, is hinged on the right as standard and opens independently from the rest of the hinged trim assembly.

The standard Mono Flat cover has a locked door over the breakers only, not the gutter areas which has the wiring.
NOTE: Old Door in door trims were hinged as the new Hinged Doors are , but previous Door in Door trim had a lockable handle on the gutter trim as well as the breaker door as standard. The new Hinged trim does not have a handle factory installed as standard , but option can be requested for factory installation at the time of ordering.
