This development comes as a growing number of major companies, including MTN, First Bank, Dangote, Shell, and TVC, relocate to the 10-square-kilometre development.
The partnership, in collaboration with Eko Utilities Nigeria Limited—the city’s dedicated power provider—marks a major step in Nigeria’s urban sustainability drive, reinforcing Eko Atlantic’s position as a self-sufficient and resilient economic hub. A statement issued by the company said,
“As Eko Atlantic City moves into its fifth development phase, Schneider Electric is committed to delivering a resilient and efficient power infrastructure that supports critical establishments, including schools, malls, data centres, telecommunication firms, and banks.”
According to the firm, an independent electricity generation facility is currently under development, with an initial power output of 11kV and the capacity to scale up to 132kV, ensuring uninterrupted energy distribution.
Schneider said the partnership aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 11 on building sustainable cities and communities, setting new benchmarks for smart urban living in Nigeria.
