The communication ports on the 7500 and 7600 meters (RS-232, RS-485, Ethernet, and MODEM) have been tested for resistance to nearby lightning strikes. These tests confirm compliance with IEC 61000-6-2 standards under a "Class 2 Fast" 1.2/50-microsecond Combination Wave, with a test level of ±1 kV.
