How Do I Fix SoMove Communication Errors When Scanning for an Altivar Drive?
Resolution:
Verify Driver Installation
- Ensure that both the USB driver and Modbus communication drivers are installed correctly and functioning properly.
Check COM Port Settings
- Open Device Manager on your PC and identify the COM port assigned to the USB communication cable.
- In SoMove, verify that the same COM port is selected under the communication settings.
- Make sure the COM port configuration matches in both locations.
- If the drive is still not detected after verifying the drivers, COM port settings, and DTM libraries, try enabling Auto Adaptation in SoMove.
- Auto Adaptation allows SoMove to automatically adjust communication parameters and may help establish a connection when the configured settings do not match the drive.
Update or Reinstall DTM Libraries
- Confirm that the latest DTM libraries are installed.
- If communication issues persist, uninstall and reinstall the DTM libraries.
Reinstall SoMove
- If the issue remains unresolved, uninstall SoMove and perform a fresh installation of the software
