What would cause the ATS22 soft starter to overheat or short circuit faults on power up?
Issue:
ATS22 soft starter getting overheat or short circuit faults on power up

Product Line:
ATS22 with S6U and S6 suffix

Environment:

Cause:
Control voltage was to high on CL1 and CL2

Resolution:
First check to see which soft starter they have by checking the suffix S6 or S6U.
Check the CL1 CL2 voltage on the S6 suffix soft starters it should be no higher than 230vac.
Check the CL1 CL2 voltage on the S6U suffix soft starter it should be no higher than 120vac.
Check the LI1 LI2 inputs on the S6U suffix unit make sure its 120vac to com when you are commanding the soft starter to run.
Check the LI1 LI2 inputs on the S6  suffix unit and make sure its 24vdc to com when you are commanding the soft starter to run.
Check for Main input voltage that its connected to L1 L2 L3 and the Motor is wired to T1 T2 T3.
