In an installation where SM6 switchgear has Top Exhaust Arc Tunnel, if there is an arc fault in the cable compartment, is there any risk for the arc energy to go through cable penetration?

For Top Exhaust, most of the hot gases will release via the top duct, however, if there is any gap between the cables and concrete flooring, limited amount of hot gases can be release from downwards as well.

To ensure safety of personnel working in the floor below the panel, it is recommended to either fill the gap or to have sheet metal installed to ensure no passage to hot gases to evacuate.  SM
