Will adding a TM171ARS485 to M171/M172 controller give me two additional RS-485 ports?

While you may observe that there is a double connector on the TM171ARS485, this is in fact for daisy chaining and it does not mean that they are two independent channels.

Therefore, the module effectively provides only ONE RS-485 communication port.
