Activation of EcoStruxure Machine Expert V2.3 using the free license

For EcoStruxure Machine Expert V2.3, the free license must be installed using the correct license files from the Machine Expert license package.

Follow the attached screenshots for the full process.

General steps:

1. Make sure EcoStruxure Machine Expert V2.3 is installed correctly and that the installation is not corrupted.

2. Open Schneider Electric License Manager.

3. Enter the free license Activation ID when prompted.

4. Log in with a mySchneider account and download the license installation `.zip` file.

5. Extract the downloaded license package.

6. Open the folder named:

`License files - SoMachine_SoMachine Motion_SoSafe_Machine Expert`

7. Go into the `Machine Expert` folder and locate the required Machine Expert V2.3 license files.

8. Copy the required `.lic` files into the following directory:

`C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Schneider Electric Shared\LicenseFiles`

9. Restart EcoStruxure Machine Expert V2.3.

10. Confirm that Machine Expert opens correctly and shows the license as a free license.

Important:

Do not use the “EcoStruxure Machine Expert - Basic 1.0 License file” for EcoStruxure Machine Expert V2.3. If this incorrect license file is placed in the LicenseFiles folder, Machine Expert may open incorrectly or freeze during startup.

If this occurs, remove the incorrect license file and copy only the correct Machine Expert V2.3 license files from the SoMachine / SoMachine Motion / SoSafe / Machine Expert license package.
