MDA failure during Vijeo Designer Runtime project download

Question:

When downloading a Vijeo Designer project to an HMI/iPC runtime target, the download fails with the message:

“Cannot create MDS — HMI runtime downloading process! Error code = 5”

The connection may abort or fail during USB download. What causes this and how can it be resolved?

Answer:

The MDA popup appears during the project download process and is related to Vijeo Designer Runtime (VJD RT).

This issue typically occurs when VJD RT does not have the appropriate permissions on the target machine.

To resolve the issue:

1. Uninstall VJD RT from the target machine.

2. Install the following runtime version:

`Runtime_For_Windows_SP3 (6.3.3.32_6.3.3.32)`

3. Launch VJD RT in administrator mode.

4. Download the project again.

After reinstalling the correct VJD RT version and launching the runtime with administrator permissions, the project download should proceed without the MDA popup issue.
