Troubleshooting Vijeo Designer License Activation Issues in HMI License Manager V2.0

Issue:

When trying to activate a Vijeo Designer license online in HMI License Manager V2.0, one of the following error messages may appear.

Unable to connect to license server error

Unsuccessful check HMI License Manager

Basic troubleshooting:

  1. Uninstall and reinstall Vijeo Designer and HMI License Manager V2.0
  2. Return/Reactivate the license
  3. Disable the Unity Writer Filter if enabled (it should be disabled by default)
  4. Contact your company IT department to temporarily relax any security restrictions

Disabling Unified Write Filter

Alternative activation method:

If none of the above troubleshooting steps have helped, you can try the offline activation method described below in the video. It will require two devices with HMI License Manager V2.0 installed and a USB device to transfer across files. While the video describes the process for EOTE, the same process will apply for Vijeo Designer as well.

If you continue to face issues with activation, please reach out to our customer technical support team.
