Is it possible to have a READ_REG or WRITE_REG function block bridge Ethernet to Modbus through a TSXETG100?
Yes it is possible to have a READ_REG or WRITE_REG function block bridge Ethernet to Modbus through a TSXETG100.
This is done by adding a Modbus mapping index into the low byte of the first word in the variable linked to the ADDRFLD pin of the block.
This variable is a WordArr5 in which the high byte of the first word is the physical slot that the Ethernet module is in the backplane and the low byte is modbus mapping index.
The remaining words are for the IP address of the TSXETG100.
In this example the READ_REG or WRITE_REG function block will connect to a Modbus address 5 through a TSXETG100 at IP address 192.168.40.7
