Cause
Upon attempt to view or configure meter from the front panel by holding down the ALT/ENTER key, the message "INFORMATION CONFIGURATION MODE LOCKED OUT" appears and holds on the screen until timing out.

Configuring ION8600/8650 via the front panel.
RESOLUTION
Configuring ION8600/8650 via the front panel has been set to be disallowed. Access the meter via communications using ION Setup or ION Designer. Find the Display Options module and change the setting of the setup register called "Front Panel Programming" to "Allowed".
