The M580 can send an explicit Ethernet IP message to a Contrologix PLC as long as it is sent to an Ethernet/IP object that supports being read or written.
Note: You will need to talk to the Contrologix PLC support on what Ethernet/IP objects a remote Ethernet/IP Scanner device can read or write.
Contrologix PLCs can read and write each others Tag database via Ethernet/IP using the proprietary Client Server Protocol ("CSP") protocol, with embedded PCCC (Programmable Controller Communication Commands) commands. This Ethernet/IP (CSP/PCCC) protocol is a proprietary implementation of Ethernet/IP and Schneider Electric does not have access to it.
