Why an Error popup ‘The run time is in use’ is displayed with EcoStruxure™ Operator Terminal Expert using HMIG5U22?
With the HMIG5U22, if a user wants to display the Runtime of the EcoStruxure™ Operator Terminal Expert project, it can occur that an error popup is displayed with the following message ‘the run time is in use’ but there is no real other runtime already running and the runtime never starts.

The root cause is:
The Runtime is tried to boot twice at startup by each way:
  1. By registry entry [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
Note: To install the EOTE Runtime by the Installer creates this faulty registry entry.
2- By AppAutoStarter
Then Runtime detect the duplicate launch and shows the dialog "The Runtime is in use".

Hardware:  This issue is visible on HMIG5U22 running a Windows 10 LTSC operating system.

Software: EcoStruxure™ Operator Terminal Expert 3.2 SP1, SP2
Operating system: Windows 10 LTSC
Language: English, other languages can be concerned


Resolution:
This issue will be fixed in the next EcoStruxure™ Operator Terminal Expert version: V4.0.


Before this V4.0 version availability, you can apply this workaround:
To Remove the registry entry
  • In Windows menu, enter Regedit then browse to:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
  • Delete:
"RTPrimaryBoot"="C:\\Program Files\\Schneider Electric\\Vijeo XD Runtime\\RTPrimaryBoot\\RTPrimaryBoot.exe"
