Is It possible reset the Advantys STB NIM password ?
It Is possible on the Advantys STB NIM (STBNIP2212, STBNIP2311) to configure a password in order to limit the access to available online functions, by putting the physical island into "Protect Mode".
It will then ask for a password if we try to connect using Advantys Configuration Software tool.
This option is available online by clicking on "Protect" menu:
If the Island is protected, enter a user-assigned password in order to:
- change configuration port settings
- change the state of the physical Island
- download configurations
- store to SIM card
- unprotect the Island
- activate/deactivate test mode
- force output data in test mode
- force auto-configuration
A password-protected configuration is inaccessible to anyone who does not know the password. Your system administrator is responsible for keeping track of the password and the list of authorized users.
If the assigned password is lost or forgotten, you are unable to change the island’s configuration.
If the password is lost and you need to reconfigure the island, you need to perform a destructive reflash of the NIM by sending back the product to factory.
A firmware update will NOT reset the password.
