How to verify APC UPS is communicating over USB with Mac OS X

Product Line:
All USB enabled Smart-UPS and Back-UPS

Environment:
Mac OS X 10.?

Cause:
Informational

Solution:
First, verify the USB cable is connected between the UPS and the computer.

Second, open a terminal window on the system and enter the command
system_profiler SPUSBDataType

In the example above there was a Back-UPS BR 700G attached to the system running Mac OS X 10.12.6 via USB.
