Issue:
Difference between leakage currents on ATV630/650 and ATV660/680

Product Line:
Altivar 600 Series Drives, ATV630/650, ATV660/680

Environment:
All

Cause:
Leakage Currents

Resolution:
In ATV630/650/660/680 the RFI boards built-in are same and therefore the same earth leakage current is present.
When the power supply is switched on the capacitors on the RFI board are charged which causes an earth leakage current for a short time (approx. 100 microseconds). This is also the same for all drives.
When the drive gets a start command there is a difference between drives with diode rectifier (ATV630/650/660) and drives with AFE (ATV680). When the AFE starts switching, there is a small earth leakage current in the RFI board which lasts approx. 2 milliseconds. This is not the case on drives with diode rectifier.
